Department of Health - Queensland
About the role
This isn’t your everyday health role. As CQHHS’s new permanent part-time Senior Epidemiologist, you’ll have the opportunity to shape how the service understands and responds to communicable disease, from blood-borne and vaccine-preventable diseases to outbreaks, zoonotic and vector-borne threats.
We’re looking for an independent thinker who can apply epidemiology to complex situations, adapt their approach and connect the dots others might miss. If you want to use your expertise where it can genuinely influence decisions, research and better health outcomes, this new role is well worth a closer look.
This position can be based anywhere within Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service.
The Quality and Safety Division helps CQHHS deliver safer, more effective and person-centred care by providing clinical teams with the frameworks, expertise and practical support to identify risks, understand performance and continuously improve.
The Risk and Informatics Team is the data and risk powerhouse behind this work. They turn complex healthcare data into clear, useful insights, tracking trends, emerging risks and quality indicators so leaders and frontline staff can make informed decisions. They also oversee risk and audit systems, develop dashboards and reporting tools, support governance committees, and provide training so staff can confidently use data to improve care.
