Salary per annum $72,407

About the Role

The Project Support Officer works alongside the Healthy Environments team to support the successful delivery of biodiversity and conservation projects across the Wheatbelt.

The role provides practical project support including field activities, environmental monitoring and data collection, project administration, information management, stakeholder and landholder engagement, and coordination of project activities.

Working under the guidance of experienced project staff, the role is an opportunity to apply and develop biodiversity and conservation knowledge while contributing directly to practical environmental outcomes across the region.

Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management is a non-profit organisation working in partnership with community, biodiversity, agriculture and government to provide regional leadership and direction for sustainable land use and the conservation of natural resources in the Avon River Basin of Western Australia. Selection Criteria

Applicants must address the following criteria in a cover note, supported by a resume with 2 referees.

Biodiversity Knowledge

• Relevant knowledge, qualifications and/or practical experience in biodiversity conservation, ecology, environmental science or natural resource management, with knowledge of Wheatbelt biodiversity highly regarded.

Technical Skills

• Ability to undertake environmental fieldwork, monitoring and data collection.
• Working knowledge of GIS.

Organisation and Administrative Skills

• Strong organisational and administrative skills, including attention to detail, Microsoft 365 capability and the ability to manage tasks and project information within agreed timeframes.

Communication Skills

• Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to contribute to project reporting, stakeholder communications and written content.

Teamwork

• A reliable and collaborative approach to work, with the ability to follow established processes, complete assigned tasks and proactively ask questions or seek guidance when required.

To be eligible to apply you must be an Australian citizen, or entitled to work in Australia for the full length of the contract without any sponsorship requirements, and you must have a valid class C driver’s licence. If you do not meet these requirements, you will not be considered for this role.
