Full-Time Draftsman – Renovations & Extensions

About the role

An experienced and motivated Draftsman is required to join the team on a full-time basis, working primarily on residential renovations, extensions and alterations. This is an opportunity to join a growing building business and work closely with the builder and site team to produce practical, accurate and buildable drawings for a variety of residential projects.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing drawings for residential renovations and extensions

• Existing and proposed floor plans

• House extensions and alterations

• Internal renovations and layout changes

• Basic site plans and site layouts

• Elevations and construction drawings

• Basic construction details

• Drafting from site measurements, sketches and builder instructions

• Preparing plans for building approval and project documentation

• Updating and amending drawings as projects develop

• Liaising with the builder and site team to ensure drawings are practical and buildable

About you

• Previous experience in residential drafting

• Experience with renovations and extensions

• A good understanding of residential construction

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to interpret site measurements and sketches

• Ability to produce accurate, professional and easy-to-read drawings

• Good communication and organisational skills

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects

• Competency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar drafting software

• Knowledge of Queensland residential construction requirements and approval processes will be highly regarded
