The Opportunity

Here at The Kids Research Institute Australia, our vision is simple – Happy Healthy Kids.  

Our Kids Rehab Research WA team is an integrated team of clinicians and researchers who deliver and research therapies for children with acquired or congenital neurological impairments, leading to improved outcomes for children and their families.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to work with the CONNECT-CP Project, which is a clinical research program aiming to improve connection, access and translation of evidence in Cerebral Palsy. CONNECT-CP aims to diagnose cerebral palsy (CP) earlier and ensure all children in Western Australia (WA) have access to early assessment and support.

Your duties will include:

• Coordinating research and evaluation activities across the digital solution, education and training, and clinical network streams of CONNECT-CP.
• Coordinating ethics and governance applications and reporting, ensuring all projects are conducted in accordance with requirements.
• Undertaking and coordinating quantitative and qualitative research activities across all phases of the research cycle, from data collection to knowledge translation.
• Managing REDCap databases and research datasets, including data quality assurance, documentation, and routine reporting
• Collaborating with stakeholders (clinicians, consumers, carers) to apply co-design principles and deliver translational research outcomes.
• Contributing to reports, publications, and conference presentations.

Located in our offices within Perth Children’s Hospital, this role is part-time (0.4 FTE) in an ongoing capacity.

The salary range for this role is $114,900 to $134,700 (depending on experience) + Super.

About You

The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD/Doctoral qualification in public health, epidemiology, social sciences, health promotion, health sciences, rehabilitation, psychology, allied health, implementation science, or a related field.

You will also have:

• Demonstrated experience conducting health, clinical, public health, or implementation research.
• Experience applying qualitative and/or quantitative research methods, including study design, data collection, statistical and qualitative analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Demonstrated experience managing research databases and datasets, including REDCap.
• Proven ability to engage and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consumers, and community partners, including experience in co-design, knowledge translation, and/or implementation approaches to support research translation.
• Demonstrated track record of producing high-quality research outputs, such as research reports, resources, and relevant peer-reviewed publications.
• Established experience in the preparation of research ethics applications and reports to ethical and funding bodies.
