Peter Pan Literacy Club is seeking expressions of interest from experienced and passionate Vocational Trainers and Assessors, particularly those who may be semi-retired and looking for flexible, rewarding work that makes a real difference in the community.
This casual role offers the opportunity to work with adult learners in literacy and numeracy programs, helping individuals build the skills and confidence they need for employment, further training and everyday life.
This position is ideal for a trainer looking for a balance between work and lifestyle. Work is generally available 2-4 days per week, depending on learner enrolments, program schedules and operational requirements. Some weeks may vary, providing flexibility for those seeking part-time or semi-retirement employment.
As a Trainer and Assessor, you will:
Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy training to adult learners.
Support learners from diverse backgrounds to achieve their educational goals.
Conduct fair, valid and reliable assessments.
Provide constructive feedback and ongoing learner support.
Maintain accurate training and assessment records.
Adapt delivery methods to suit different learning styles and learner needs.
Contribute to a positive, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality training outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116, TAE40122 or equivalent).
Experience delivering vocational education and training programs.
Strong literacy and numeracy skills and an understanding of adult learning principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A learner-focused approach and commitment to inclusive education.
The ability to work independently and manage varying training schedules.
Current industry knowledge and a passion for helping others succeed.
Experience delivering foundation skills, literacy, numeracy or employability programs.
Experience working with mature-age learners, job seekers or disadvantaged cohorts.
