Used Vehicle Sales Consultant

First Auto Melbourne is seeking an experienced and motivated Vehicle Sales Consultant to join our small, tight-knit team in Port Melbourne.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an independent dealership with an expanding inventory and strong sales opportunities. You will take ownership of customer enquiries and manage the sales process from the initial conversation through to vehicle delivery.

The successful applicant will be confident working independently while contributing to the performance and presentation of the wider dealership.

• Responding promptly and professionally to phone and online customer enquiries

• Welcoming customers and understanding their vehicle requirements and budget

• Presenting suitable vehicles and explaining their features, condition and service history

• Conducting vehicle inspections and test drives

• Bring vehicles into stock, and coordinate their preparation for sale

• Book transport

• Photograph and advertise vehicles on various platforms

• Following up prospective customers and managing leads through the sales process

• Preparing quotations and introducing available finance and warranty options

• Negotiating sales terms and closing deals

• Preparing sales documentation and coordinating smooth vehicle handovers

• Maintaining accurate customer, sales and transaction records

• Developing customer relationships that encourage referrals and repeat business

• Working towards individual and dealership sales targets

• Staying familiar with available inventory, pricing and current market conditions

• Ensuring vehicles are clean and professionally presented

• Ensuring the correct forms and vehicle information are displayed

• Helping maintain the showroom and office to a professional standard

• A minimum of two years vehicle-sales experience

• A proven ability to manage leads, negotiate and close sales

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A professional, friendly and customer-focused approach

• Self-motivation, organisation and a results-driven attitude

• Sound knowledge of vehicle features, specifications and the used-car market

• Confidence using dealership management systems, online lead platforms and Microsoft Office

• A current Victorian driver licence

• Professional presentation and a reliable, honest approach

• The ability to manage customer questions and objections confidently

• A willingness to contribute as part of a small, hands-on team

• Monday to Friday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

• Saturday: Closed

• Sunday: 10:00am - 1:30pm

• Competitive remuneration with a base retainer and performance based commission
