The Role

As the Financial Controller, you will oversee the entire finance function.

You are an experienced accountant who “gets” operations and brings commercial acumen to decision making. You understand that a stock discrepancy isn’t just a ledger entry, it’s a breakdown in the warehouse workflows. You will provide the commercial oversight needed to help our Logistics and Venue teams thrive while ensuring our financial reporting remains tight. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Control & Leadership

• Ownership of financial data and reporting.
• Lead and deliver the month-end close process; continually improving speed-to-close whilst maintaining accuracy and integrity.
• Lead the annual external audit process.
• Oversee & support the Finance Manager in delivering business critical financial operations services.
• Bridge the gap between the CFO’s strategy and the accounting team’s execution, aligning financial plans with business objectives.
• Management of working capital, with particular focus on the Cash Conversion Cycle and cash flow seasonality.
• Accountability for technical accounting compliance and capability in multi-entity and multi-currency consolidations.

2. Finance Operations

• Mentorship: Guide and support the Finance Manager in delivering effective and evolving finance operations across AP, AR, Payroll and cash management.
• Process Improvement: Identify workflow friction or inefficiency across the entire business, identify root-cause issues, develop & test new ways of working to remove downstream finance impacts and improve overall business performance.

3. Commercial Analysis & Strategy

• Partner with team leads as budgetholders, with monthly updates of actual performance to budget and their teams trajectory.
• Support the CFO with the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process across all departments.
• Ownership of financial data integrity and its alignment to reporting from other integrated systems.

About You

• The Qualification: CA or CPA qualified.
• The Experience: You have worked in hospitality groups, beverage businesses or CPG more broadly.
• The Leader: You are an empathetic but firm leader. You can speak “Accounting” to the finance team and “operational execution” to the Logistics team.  You are hands on and lead from the front.
• The Problem Solver: You don’t wait for something to break, you can foresee it and intercept it.  You don’t ask for permission to fix something that is broken, you take action & bring everyone along with you.
