The Diesel Fitter is responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, repair and overhaul of Sea Swift's diesel-powered plant, machinery, vehicles and associated mechanical systems.                           

About the role:

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities
• Allocate corrective and breakdown work and diagnose mechanical faults to restore assets to a safe and serviceable condition
• Undertake systematic fault finding using appropriate diagnostic equipment
• Identify and report deterioration, defects and abnormal operating conditions observed during maintenance or inspection activities
• Report recurring failures and defects that may indicate an underlying reliability issue.
• Identify parts and materials required to complete assigned work
• Ensure repairs are completed to the required technical standard and that equipment is appropriately inspected and tested before being returned to service

Skills & experience:

• Trade qualified (Experienced light Vehicle Mechanics welcome to apply)
• Maintain a valid driver’s license, working at height training and confined space entry or willingness to obtain
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a valid forklift license
• High level attention to detail and accuracy
• High level of punctuality
• Understanding of Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental principles
