The opportunity

Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of multiple structural steel projects while providing strategic direction and mentoring to the project delivery team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the successful delivery of multiple structural steel projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme and budget objectives are achieved

• Managing project teams, providing leadership, coaching and technical guidance to Project Managers and Project Co-ordinators

• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers

• Overseeing procurement strategies and subcontractor performance

• Managing project budgets, forecasting, cost control and commercial outcomes

• Identifying project risks and implementing mitigation strategies

• Reviewing project schedules and ensuring milestones are achieved

• Driving compliance with contractual obligations, Australian Standards, WHS legislation and quality requirements

• Collaborating closely with estimating, detailing, fabrication and site teams to ensure seamless project delivery

• Supporting business development activities and contributing to future project opportunities

• Promoting a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration and continuous improvement

What you'll bring

• Minimum 8–10 years' experience managing structural steel or commercial construction projects

• Demonstrated experience successfully delivering large-scale commercial, industrial or infrastructure projects

• Proven leadership experience managing project teams and mentoring staff

• Strong commercial and contractual management skills

• Excellent understanding of structural steel fabrication, erection and construction methodologies

• Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, standards and WHS legislation

• High level of proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline

• Current Australian Driver Licence
