Role Description The Senior Interior Designer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Norwest, NSW, with flexibility for some work from home. This role is responsible for leading interior design projects from concept through completion, including developing design schemes, space plans, and FF&E selections that align with client requirements and Valor Residential standards. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with clients, preparing presentations, coordinating with architects and construction teams, and producing detailed drawings and documentation. The Senior Interior Designer will oversee design quality, mentor junior team members, and ensure that designs are executable within budget and schedule constraints. Collaboration, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving are critical to success in this position.
QualificationsStrong Interior Design and FF&E skills, including concept development, material selection, and furniture and fixture specification.Proficiency in Space Planning to optimize functionality, circulation, and aesthetic appeal in residential environments.Knowledge of Architecture and Construction Drawings, with the ability to translate design concepts into accurate technical documentation.Experience collaborating with construction, engineering, and project management teams to ensure design intent is maintained during build.Relevant tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., ArchiCAD, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or similar).Demonstrated experience in residential projects, ideally in design-build or highly integrated project environments.Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to present and justify design solutions clearly and professionally.Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Experience in mentoring or guiding junior designers is highly beneficial.
