FULL-TIME PAINTER

BASRAN Group Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled full-time Painter to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings, houses, and other surfaces. Your job will be important as good painting has both practical and aesthetic benefits.

An excellent painter is knowledgeable in selecting the right material for their job. They have experience in painting with various tools, heights, and spaces while observing all safety measures. They must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

The goal is to deliver high-quality painting work.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.

• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures, etc.

• Painting to the highest standard of workmanship – surface prep, as well as mixing and matching.

• Working with a deep understanding of OHS practices and requirements, apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.

• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster).

• Prepare walls and other surfaces by washing, scraping, sanding and/or smoothing before painting, varnishing, or applying other related materials.

• Thoroughly cleaning equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.

• Installing, repairing, and maintaining all sorts of internal surfaces, walls to ceilings.

• Competently erect and use apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at all heights

• Calculate costs and negotiate prices; and

• Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials.

Ideal candidate must have:

• Minimum 1 year of experience

• Trade qualified (AQF Certificate III and at least two years of work experience,

OR

• AQF Certificate IV

Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
