The Opportunity

We are seeking an engaging and personable Restaurant Host to join our Signature Restaurant team at Peppina. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a vital role in creating memorable first impressions and ensuring every guest receives a warm, genuine, and personalised welcome.

You will be responsible for managing guest reservations, coordinating seating arrangements, greeting and escorting guests, and supporting the smooth flow of service throughout the restaurant. Working closely with our Food & Beverage team, you will help deliver an exceptional dining experience that reflects Peppina's renowned hospitality and service standards.

Key Accountabilities 

• Provide a warm, professional, and personalised welcome to all guests upon arrival
• Manage reservations and seating allocations to maximise guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
• Escort guests to their tables and provide an overview of the dining experience
• Maintain accurate reservation records and guest preferences using reservation management systems
• Answer guest enquiries professionally, both in person and over the phone
• Coordinate with the restaurant service team to ensure smooth guest flow throughout service
• Monitor table availability and waiting lists, communicating effectively with guests regarding wait times
• Support the opening and closing procedures of the host stand and restaurant
• Uphold exceptional presentation, cleanliness, and service standards at all times
• Contribute to creating an elevated and welcoming dining experience aligned with Peppina's signature offering

Profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a hospitality environment
• Genuine interest in and knowledge of wine, cocktails, and food
• Experience in sequence of service and premium plated dining delivery
• Experience in using POS ordering systems
• Enjoys storytelling and sharing the history and inspiration behind food and dishes
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to exceptional guest service
• Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
• Valid Food Handling Certification
• Full working rights in Australia
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
