Cabinet Maker

Location: Prestons, NSW

Salary: $60,001 - $80,000

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

• Manufacture and assemble custom kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries and other cabinetry
• Manufacture customised cabinetry and joinery components for residential and commercial projects
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, measurements and production specifications
• Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble cabinetry components
• Operate CNC machinery, edge banders, panel saws and other woodworking machinery and equipment
• Work with different materials including timber, laminate, melamine, veneer, polyurethane and others 
• Prepare components and completed cabinetry for installation
• Install kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, cabinetry and other custom joinery onsite
• Carry out cabinetry and joinery work as part of residential and commercial interior fitouts
• Check measurements, alignment, fit and finish throughout the manufacturing and installation process
• Identify and rectify manufacturing or installation issues
• Ensure completed work complies with drawings, specifications and required quality standards
• Coordinate with project managers, installers, other trades and clients where required
• Maintain tools, machinery and workshop equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe workshop and worksite
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures   Skills and experience

The successful applicant should have:

• Full work rights in Australia 
• At least 3 years of strong practical experience as a Cabinet Maker or in a closely related cabinetry and joinery role
• Experience manufacturing custom kitchens, wardrobes, vanities, laundries and other cabinetry
• Experience installing cabinetry and joinery onsite
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and production plans
• Experience operating CNC machinery
• Experience operating edge banders and panel saws
• Sound knowledge of cabinetry manufacturing techniques and materials
• Experience working with timber, laminate, melamine, veneer and related products
• Experience with residential and commercial cabinetry or interior fitout projects
• Strong measuring and problem solving skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to manage work efficiently and meet project deadlines
• Good communication skills Qualifications and licences Relevant cabinet making or joinery qualifications are desirable.

Applicants with substantial demonstrated industry experience will also be considered.   A current White Card is required for onsite work.
