Nuview Landscapes and Design is a residential landscape construction company based in the Sutherland Shire. We build high-end outdoor spaces – pool surrounds, entertaining areas, retaining walls, paving, decking and planting – for clients across the Shire and southern Sydney.

We are looking for a first- and second-year apprentice to join our small crew. No experience is needed. You will be taught the trade from the ground up by our leading hand and qualified tradespeople on real projects from day one.

The work is mostly hardscaping (construction), with some softscaping.

What you will be doing to start with:

• Assisting the crew on site with whatever the job needs that day.
• Moving and handling materials – pavers, blocks, soil, turf and timber.
• Digging, barrowing and site preparation.
• Setting up the site in the morning and cleaning up at the end of the day.
• Fetching, cleaning and looking after tools and equipment.
• Helping with garden bed preparation, planting and turf laying.
• Keeping the site safe, tidy and presentable at all times.

What you will learn as you progress:

• Site set-out and excavation.
• Building retaining walls in block, timber and sandstone.
• Paving, tiling and concrete work.
• Drainage and irrigation installation.
• Landscape carpentry – decking, screens, pergolas and fencing.
• Safe operation of plant, tools and equipment.

What we are looking for:

• A genuine interest in learning landscaping as a trade, not just a job.
• Turning up on time, every day, ready to work.
• A good attitude – willing to listen, take direction and ask questions.
• Physically fit and prepared for hard outdoor work in all weather.
• Able to work in a small team and communicate clearly.

You do not need any trade experience, tools or qualifications. Attitude and reliability matter far more to us than what you have done before.

Essential requirement:

• You must be able to get yourself to and from job sites across the Sutherland Shire reliably and on time, by whatever means works for you.
• White Card (or willing to obtain prior to starting).
