Nestled in the rugged Cape Range National Park, approximately 70 km from Exmouth in Western Australia, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is an eco-luxe safari camp offering spectacular views of the beach and surrounding dunes.

With just 16 wilderness tents on site, guests are immersed in the unique flora and fauna both on land and in the pristine waters of Ningaloo Reef.

About You

Experience in a similar Cook role Food Handling Certificate First Aid Certificate Pride in delivering the best standards of guest service, ensuring our guests leave us with lasting memories Strong interpersonal and communication skills Able to manage conflict and problem solve Ability to produce excellent high-quality food Good verbal communication High level of attention to detailEnthusiasm to develop your own skills and knowledge Ability to work unsupervised and deliver quality work Positive and approachable manner Team player qualities

Cook - About The Role

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate, high-quality experienced Cook to join the Sal Salis team and work in creating and delivering the highest standard of food for our guests. This is a full-time position operating remotely on site with a small number of guests per wilderness camp. You will have the time to apply your craft and make beautiful food. You will also have the opportunity to unleash your creativity in developing new and unique menu offerings. Application is open from the 1st of September 2026.

Salary range is: $79,500 - $87,000

Key responsibilities will include:

Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals for guests and staffAssist with the daily operation of the kitchen and support the Head Chef in food production activitiesPrepare menu items in accordance with established recipes, food standards and presentation requirementsMaintain consistent food quality, preparation methods and cooking techniques. Monitor and communicate dietary requirements and food allergens to ensure guest safetyAssist with stock control, stock rotation, inventory management and food ordering requirements. Maintain food safety records and ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety regulationsEnsure kitchen equipment, food preparation areas and storage areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene. Work collaboratively with the kitchen and lodge teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Assist in responding to guest feedback and continuous improvement initiatives. Comply with all workplace health, safety and incident reporting procedures. Cultivate a positive and engaging team environmentYou may be required to assist with washing dishes, utensils, pots and pans as required and assist in maintaining overall kitchen presentation.
