Casual Pastry Chef

About the role

Café Lewi is looking for a talented and reliable Casual Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. In this role, you will help prepare and deliver high-quality dishes for our customers while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. As a casual chef, you'll be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen during busy periods.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of dishes, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation meet Café Lewi's standards

• Follow recipes and food specifications accurately to prepare various dishes.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work area, ensuring that all kitchen tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitised

• Help monitor ingredient levels, assist with stock rotation, and alert the Owners or Café Manager when supplies need replenishing

• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure the kitchen operates safely and complies with health regulations

• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, including the Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff, to ensure smooth operations during service hours

• Ensure that all dishes served meet the highest quality standards and contribute to an outstanding customer dining experience

• Be available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, evenings, depending on the café's needs
