Autism Advisors - Melbourne / Hobart

The Autism Advisor is a crucial position within our growing Services Team, delivering free, trusted and evidence-informed support to people across Australia. Reporting to the services managers, this position ensures that Autistic individuals, families, carers, and the wider community receive high-quality, evidence-informed information, advice, and referrals. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver High-Quality, Multi-Channel Support: Provide warm, respectful, and evidence-informed information, advice, and referrals to Autistic individuals, families, and supporters across phone, email, and webchat, keeping all support strictly within service scope.
• Practice Safely and Maintain Strong Boundaries: Navigate complex, escalating, or high-risk contacts calmly and safely, utilising established referral and escalation pathways while preserving clear professional boundaries.
• Commit to Personal Wellbeing and Growth: Actively engage with clinical supervision, debriefing, and team feedback, translating these insights directly into your day-to-day practice.
• Ensure Accurate Records and Data Integrity: Accurately and promptly log all interactions within our database and telephony systems (Salesforce and Genesys), ensuring full compliance with privacy and information security requirements.
• Contribute to Team and Service Excellence: Identify recurring community trends, emerging risks, or information gaps to share with the Team Leader, helping to shape resources, website content, or service-wide improvements.
• Engage the Broader Community: Step outside day-to-day enquiries when required to support Amaze events, deliver interactive webinars, or represent the organisation at community conferences. 

About You

We’re looking for someone who: 

• Is highly empathetic and resilient, with experience providing information, advice, or navigation support within the disability, health, community, or allied health services sector.
• Possesses outstanding communication skills across telephone, webchat, and written formats, with the ability to translate complex information about a range of disability-related topics into clear, tailored advice.
• Is capable of providing calm, composed, and professional support in highly sensitive or distressing situations while maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Is detail-oriented and tech-literate, with experience systematically logging client information in CRMs, telephony systems, or similar database environments.
• Is strongly committed to respectful, inclusive, and neurodivergent-friendly communication with Autistic and neurodivergent people, individuals with disability, and their families.
• Is open to active continuous improvement, receptive to feedback, and committed to participating in team debriefings and clinical supervision.
• Holds or is willing to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check (fully paid by Amaze).

Other Requirements

• Hybrid working arrangements may be available for this role depending on operational requirements, with an expectation of 60% office attendance.
• Flexible working arrangements may be considered to support individual needs subject to manager approval and the operational requirements of the role.
• Evidence of right to work in Australia if you are not an Australian citizen.
• Successful National Police Check (paid by Amaze).
• Successful Working with Children Check (paid by Amaze).
• Able to provide 2 references upon request if successful in obtaining the role.
