We are seeking full time Chefs who take pride in quality, consistency and presentation, and who thrive in a professional kitchen environment to join the Banana Accommodation Village team. Specialising in workforce accommodation we have been operating in the Banana Shire for over 10 years and have developed an excellent reputation in the mining and civil construction industries. Our group has expanded with the addition of three hotel motels in the region where we are continuing to expand our accommodation facilities and cater for local projects.

Responsibilities include:

• The key role for this position to prepare and present high volume full buffet meal services for both Breakfast and Dinner service
• Construction of daily meal menu within buffet guidelines including timely preparation of all components
• Preparation of take to work lunch food including sandwiches, pastries, salads and other take to work meal options
• Monitor food stocks and stock movement, including stock rotation and preparing stock orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• ·Ensure mis en place is completed in all sections of the kitchen.
• ·Manage daily costs of goods including optimising the stock range, minimising kitchen wastage and ensuring efficient labour input costs.
• ·Accept and store deliveries in accordance to Food Safety guidelines and company policies ensuring all stock is accounted for
• ·Complete cleaning schedules for the kitchen to ensure all working and storage areas are clean and tidy.
• Ongoing training, development and team motivation of kitchen hands whilst maintaining an environment and culture that facilitates learning

Skills and Training

• Experience in all aspects of High volume Catering including the ability to alternate between Breakfast and Dinner service menus
• Char Grill experience as a Qualified Chef
• Concise understanding of food allergy requirements
• Strong presentation skills
• Proven communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
• Reliable, punctual and professional workplace conduct
• Strong working knowledge of food safety policies and procedure and knowledge of workplace safety systems
• Qualifications Cert III or IV in Commercial Cookery (min) with 2 years subsequent experience

This position is offered by Banana HM Pty Ltd, located in Central Queensland at Banana QLD 4702 .

The role offered a 10 days on 4 days off or equivalent roster on a DIDO or live in option.

The salary for this position is 79500 to 85000.

Pay: $79,500.00 – $85,000.00 per year
