Advisor - Health & Safety

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor at our Vickery Open Cut operation conveniently located a short 20-minute drive from Gunnedah. Gunnedah is a great regional town with abundant walking trails, fishing, water sports, and various cafes and restaurants. The region is rich in history with museums and Australian wildlife.   About The Role  We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join us as part of at our Vickery Open Cut mine.   Reporting to the Superintendent – Health, Safety & Training, you will support the Vickery Open Cut mine with promoting a positive health & safety culture by providing support, advice, coaching, and assisting in developing and coordinating the implementation of Whitehaven Coals Health & Safety strategies.  What You’ll Do  Assist in the development and implementation of internal health and safety strategies, plans and policies Facilitate and/or participate in incident investigations, risk assessments and management of change processes Monitor the sites emergency preparedness and response equipment and capabilities Support and participate in site WHS Committee meetings, pre-start and toolbox meetings Monitor compliance and provide on-going support to Operations, Contractors and Corporate Teams.  What You’ll Bring   Knowledge of NSW WH&S Legislation and statutory requirements Experience with Onsite & SharePoint or similar systems Genuine passion to live by the Whitehaven STRIVE Values and contribute to a collaborative organisational culture.
