Barista / All Rounder

About the role

Bay Ten Espresso is a well-established specialty café in North Sydney with a strong local following and a genuine focus on quality, consistency and hospitality. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows good coffee, takes pride in their standards and enjoys being responsible for getting things right every day. You'll be the person responsible for maintaining coffee standards, keeping the coffee workspace organised and running efficiently, and helping improve what we do. While coffee is your primary focus, this is still a café all-rounder role. You'll jump onto the floor, take orders, interact with customers and support the wider team whenever service requires it.

Key responsibilities

• Taking ownership of Bay Ten's day-to-day coffee standards
• Dialling in coffee and maintaining recipe and extraction consistency
• Preparing high-quality espresso coffee throughout service
• Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient coffee workspace
• Cleaning and maintaining coffee equipment
• Monitoring coffee quality and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Helping maintain and improve existing systems and standards
• Supporting the team during busy service periods
• Taking customer orders and operating POS when required
• Providing friendly, professional service and building relationships with regular customers

About you

• Minimum of 2 years' barista experience
• Confident working independently
• Can confidently dial in coffee and maintain consistency throughout the day
• Takes pride in cleanliness, organisation and presentation
• Proactive rather than waiting to be told what needs doing
• Can maintain established standards while looking for ways to improve them
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced café environment
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Can move comfortably between coffee, FOH and other café duties
• Has full working rights in Australia
