So Money
About the role
So Money is a specialist non-bank mortgage manager based in North Sydney. We lend where the banks won't: alt-doc and self-employed borrowers, near-prime, expat and non-resident, SMSF and construction finance — all through the broker channel. We're adding a Relationship Manager who can both write loans and build the book.
The role
Own and grow an allocated panel of accredited brokers — face-to-face, scenario workshopping and deal structuring, backed by a processing team that handles the file
Recruit and accredit new brokers — your own network is rewarded at a premium commission tier
Originate and write direct client loans end-to-end
Fully mobile: you're with brokers and clients, not at a desk. No office attendance requirement. You're measured on settlements and relationships, not hours
Why here and not a big non-bank
Small team, direct line to credit and the directors — no ticket queues, no committees
You structure the deal and own the relationship; our processing team runs the file to settlement so you stay in front of brokers, not behind a desk chasing documents
Specialist products give you an answer for the scenarios other BDMs walk away from
Real autonomy over your diary, with the support and hospitality budget to actually use it
What you'll need
3+ years writing residential/investment loans with demonstrable alt-doc / self-employed experience — non-bank or mortgage manager background strongly preferred
Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking (Diploma preferred)
A verifiable settlement track record — we will ask for numbers and check them
Driver licence and a reliable, insured vehicle
Clear police, bankruptcy and ASIC register checks (conditions of employment under our Australian Credit Licence)
Mandarin/English bilingual highly regarded
The package
Competitive base salary + 12% superannuation
Per-kilometre vehicle allowance and a monthly client hospitality budget
Uncapped quarterly commission across direct clients, panel growth and brokers you recruit — realistic OTE $140k–$160k+ at target volumes
Apply with your CV and a summary of your last 12 months' settlement volumes by channel. Shortlisted candidates complete a short practical scenario.
