About Henty Gold Mine

Henty Gold Mine is well-established with high-quality infrastructure, both above and below ground. It is an established underground gold operation supported by a 199koz Ore Reserve and a conventional 300–400ktpa CIL processing plant, targeting ~30,000oz annual production. Ongoing underground development and exploration drilling programs are focused on resource growth, discovery and extending mine life.

About the role

Henty Gold Mine is seeking an experienced Underground Mine Manager to lead the Underground Mining Business Unit.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this senior leadership role is accountable for the safe, reliable and efficient performance of all underground mining activities, including mining operations, geology, underground maintenance and site light vehicle maintenance. The role provides visible operational leadership, drives business performance and builds a culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement while delivering production and development.

Key responsibilities

·        Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all underground mining activities

·        Deliver underground production, development and operational performance safely and efficiently

·        Develop underground production strategies, operating plans, budgets and performance targets

·        Integrate operations, planning, geology, survey and maintenance to optimise operational performance

·        Drive mobile fleet reliability, underground infrastructure performance and maintenance planning

·        Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance and business value

·        Manage contractors, equipment and resources to achieve production and development objectives

·        Coach, mentor and develop leaders while building a high-performing and accountable team culture

·        Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental and company requirements while effectively managing operational risk

About you

·        Underground Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency and postgraduate leadership or management qualifications are desirable

·        Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent operational capability)

·        Strong leadership experience in underground mining operations

·        Understanding of mine planning, production engineering, geology and underground operations

·        Proven ability to improve production, equipment reliability and cost performance

·        Strong commercial focus with experience managing operational budgets and business performance

·        Authentic leadership style with excellent communication, coaching and people management skills

·        Current Australian Driver's Licence
