Yard hand / Customer Service

We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Customer Service pro / Yard hand to join our friendly team at Garden City Landscape Centre, a busy, well established, landscape supplies yard.

In this role, you’ll be a key player in keeping our customer interactions and yard running smoothly. You’ll work hands-on with the team, helping customers, keeping things organised, and making sure deliveries go out on time and in good shape. It’s a role for someone who enjoys getting stuck in and taking pride in a well-run, safe and friendly yard.

What you will be doing

• Speak with customers in person, via phone and email to take orders and provide product suggestions for their projects

• Coordinate daily yard operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks

• Schedule and oversee deliveries and collections to and from the site

• Monitor stock levels, place orders and manage inventory accuracy

• Ensure everyone on site has the knowledge and equipment they need to work safely

• Assist with rostering and task allocation  

• Work collaboratively with sales and office staff to meet customer and business needs

• Maintain yard layout, signage and product displays for efficient access and visual appeal
  

What We’re Looking For:

•        Hold a Loader licence (Desirable) and Heavy Rigid licence (HR)

•        Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude

•        Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment 

•        Basic computer or phone handling skills for taking calls and entering orders

•        Previous experience in a similar role or landscape/building supplies yard is a bonus
