Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist (New Graduate or Experienced)

About the Role:

Making A Difference Occupational Therapy is a Paediatric Occupational Therapy service focused on supporting children and adolescents (0 - 18 years) and their families to achieve and maintain independence in every aspect of their lives.

Services are provided either in our Springwood clinic, via telehealth, or in our local community (at the child's home, school, or other local setting).

At Making A Difference OT, you will become an integral part of a child’s and their family’s therapeutic journey by supporting their ongoing growth and independence to make a positive difference in their lives! You will be supported to do this by working closely with a senior paediatric OT. You will also have the opportunity and time allocated to be involved in extra activities such as developing resources, programs, products and workshops. We also run group programs, social groups, parent-workshops and intensive therapies over school holidays.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• You will work with families to develop individualised treatment plans to create child and family-centred goals to improve skills in areas including attention, behaviour management, fine motor, handwriting, gross motor, sensory processing, social skills, play skills, self-care and more!

• You will be required to drive and conduct sessions within clients’ homes and/or schools where sessions are not held in clinic.

• You will be required to regularly liaise with other professionals and stakeholders involved in the child and family's care, where we place high value in a collaborative and multi-disciplinary approach to early intervention.

• You will be required to manage your own scheduling and time appropriately, where high organisation skills are necessary.

• You will be required to demonstrate a high commitment to PD, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1-2 Years Paediatric Experience preferred, although New Graduates and current 4th Year OT Students without experience also welcome to apply

• Bachelor of Occupational Therapy

• Registration with AHPRA as an OT (or pending)

• Membership with OTA

• Current valid Blue Card

• Current valid driver’s licence & reliable vehicle

• Current valid First Aid and CPR Certificate

• Current valid Police Check

• Proof of all required Covid-19 Vaccinations and Digital Certificate
