Gaming Attendant

About the role

As a Gaming Attendant, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming, enjoyable and responsible gaming experience for our guests. Working as part of our friendly venue team, you'll provide attentive customer service, maintain a clean and inviting gaming environment, and ensure all gaming activities are conducted in accordance with Queensland legislation and responsible gambling requirements. This is a hands-on customer service role suited to someone who enjoys engaging with people, takes pride in providing exceptional service and is comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide friendly, professional and attentive service to patrons within the gaming area
• Assist patrons with gaming machine enquiries and provide general information regarding gaming facilities and services
• Conduct gaming payouts and gaming-related transactions accurately and in accordance with venue procedures and regulatory requirements
• Monitor the gaming floor and respond promptly to patron requests and service requirements
• Promote and adhere to responsible gambling practices, including recognising and appropriately responding to indicators of gambling harm
• Maintain an awareness of self-exclusion requirements and escalate responsible gambling matters in accordance with venue procedures
• Ensure gaming machines, surrounding areas and customer facilities are clean, tidy and well presented
• Accurately handle cash and complete required reconciliations, documentation and gaming records
• Report gaming machine faults or maintenance requirements to the appropriate team member or service provider
• Assist with beverage service and other general venue duties as required

About you

• QLD RSG (Responsible Service of Gambling)
• QLD RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol)
• Previous experience in gaming, hospitality or customer service is highly regarded
• A friendly, approachable and professional manner with a genuine passion for customer service
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patrons and team members
• A good understanding of responsible gambling practices and the importance of maintaining a safe and compliant gaming environment
• Ability to remain calm, professional and discreet when handling customer enquiries or sensitive situations
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling cash, gaming payouts and gaming-related transactions
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays
• Confidence using point-of-sale, gaming and other venue operating systems
