Cards, Coffee, and Good Conversation: Male Volunteer Needed for Local Senior

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Ageing with Grace believes that social connections are essential to the well-being of older people. We are seeking enthusiastic, compassionate, friendly Volunteer Visitors to spend time with older people who are at risk of social isolation and loneliness.

We are currently searching for a friendly, engaging volunteer (preferably male, 18 years of age or older) to spend some quality one-on-one time with Vittorio, a wonderful gentleman.

**About Vittorio:**
Vittorio is originally from Italy and speaks both English and Italian. He is currently struggling with social isolation and is deeply missing regular social interaction and connection. Vittorio would love a male companion to visit him for a good 1:1 chat, whether in English or Italian, and to share a friendly, casual game of cards.

**The Role:**

- **What:** Companionship and social connection.
- **Activities:** Having a warm conversation (in English or Italian), sharing stories, and playing card games together.
- **Time Commitment:** Flexible hours to suit your schedule (weekly or fortnightly visits).

**About You:**

- You are a male volunteer
(to match Vittorio's comfort and preference).
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- Speaking Italian is a wonderful asset, but no necessary.
- You possess a kind heart, compassion, reliability, and enjoy a game of cards.

**About the Program:**
This position is supported by the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS). The ACVVS is a government-funded program designed to combat social isolation and help develop social connections.

By giving just an hour or two of your time, you can break the isolation for Vittorio, help him stay connected to his heritage, and build a rewarding local mateship.

Volunteers are required to visit once per fortnight (although we prefer weekly where possible), duration of visit is up to you. We require a commitment of minimum 6 months - 12 months or longer.

Training is provided in addition to ongoing support from your local Volunteer Programs Coordinator.
