About Us

Assisi Aged Care is a not for profit, faith based provider of residential aged care services located in Melbourne's North East, in the leafy suburb of Rosanna. Assisi specializes in providing aged services for Melbourne's elderly Italian community, and is situated amongst expansive garden surrounds with ample free parking.

The Role

A multiskilled role is available on a casual basis for a reliable individual to provide high quality food services for our resident population, and also provide cleaning and laundry hand services as required. Our ideal candidate must have permanent work rights in Australia and have flexible availability across the 7 day week period to fill shifts at short notice. Some catering experience is required, however on the job training will also be provided. Shifts times are: 7.00am to 2.45pm, 3. 00pm to 7.15pm; or 3.45pm to 8.00pm.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and serving food and beverages in accordance with the Food Safety Program, resident preferences and dietary requirements and the relevant duty list.

• Using approved techniques to clean resident rooms, bathrooms, communal and public areas following infection control procedures.

• Work with a supportive team to launder linen and resident clothing using commercial grade equipment.

Key Selection Criteria

• Safe Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001)

• Minimum 1-2 years food service experience required

• Experience in residential aged care services (preferred)

• Effective planning and time management skills

• Excellent customer service skills

• Permanent right to work in Australia, or Australian citizenship

• Intermediate proficiency in English is required for effective communication with residents and team members

• Ability to speak Italian (desirable)

• Willingness to undergo a national police check prior to commencement.
