About the role
The Tasmanian Family and Sexual Violence Alliance (TFSVA) is seeking nominations for two Full Member (Organisational) Directors to join our Board following the 2026 Annual General Meeting.
This is an opportunity to contribute to the governance and strategic direction of Tasmania’s peak body for family violence, sexual violence and child sexual abuse, and to help shape the systems and cultural change needed to end gendered violence in lutruwita/Tasmania.
About the Alliance:
TFSVA brings together more than 50 individual and organisational members from across Tasmania.
Our purpose is to transform the culture and systems that hold gender inequity and violence in place. We work to strengthen the family and sexual violence system, influence policy and drive cultural change by bringing together lived experience, practice knowledge, research and sector expertise.
Our work includes:
research, policy development and advice;
advocacy and representation to government and other decision-makers;
sector consultation and collaboration;
information sharing and community engagement; and
workforce development and capacity-building.
About the role:
Full Member (Organisational) Directors are employees of TFSVA Full Member Organisations who are formally nominated and endorsed by their organisation.
We are looking for nominees who bring a strong understanding of and commitment to TFSVA’s purpose, values and principles, and who are willing to contribute their skills, experience and perspective at Board level.

To complement the skills and representation of our current Board, we particularly welcome nominations from people with one or more of the following:
Highly desirable:
Finance, risk or legal experience.
Connection to, or membership of, the Tasmanian Aboriginal community.
Location in Central Tasmania, the North West or rural Tasmania.
Desirable:
HR, employment law or workforce development experience.
All nominees must:
be currently employed by a TFSVA Full Member Organisation;
have the endorsement of their organisation; and
demonstrate a strong understanding of, and commitment to, the Alliance’s purpose, values and principles.
Key dates:
Nominations open: Monday, 24 August 2026
Nominations close: Monday, 14 September 2026
Interviews: Week beginning 21 September 2026
Board endorsement: 28 October 2026
Candidates announced: By 4 November 2026
AGM / election if required: 25 November 2026
