Queensland Computers
About the role
QC Tech Services - A Queensland Computers Company, is a Queensland-owned managed IT services provider with over 20 years of experience supporting businesses, government, and education across regional Queensland. We combine the care of a local business with the capability of a large provider, and we exist to make technology work for real Queensland communities.
Our culture at QC it's how we hire, how we work, and how we hold each other accountable. We operate by three core principles:
We are Passionate – we care deeply about our clients, our work, and each other
We Get it Done – we focus on outcomes that matter to clients, not just activity
We have Integrity – we own our actions, do the right thing, and follow through
If these resonate with how you already work, you'll feel at home. If they don't, this won't be the right fit.
About the Role
We're growing our technical team and looking for a highly skilled Senior IT Technician to anchor our Service Desk and move our capability forward. Whether your background is as an Engineer or a Technician, what matters most is the depth of your technical knowledge and your ability to drive real outcomes for clients. This is not a ticket-closing role. It is a client outcomes role. You will own the complex, escalated work that Level 1 cannot resolve, directly influence the quality of service our clients experience every day, and help build the technical capability of the team around you.
What You'll Own
Caring About the Client Experience
When a client's business is impacted, you are the person who takes control. You will be the escalation point for Level 1 Technicians. Not just to resolve the ticket, but to make sure the client feels heard, informed, and back to normal as quickly as possible. That means communicating clearly at every stage, setting honest expectations, and following through until the issue is genuinely closed, not just marked resolved.
Capably Solving Problems That Affect How Businesses Operate
The issues you'll handle go beyond the technical. You'll be working across endpoints, cloud environments, servers, networking, and business applications, resolving the kind of complex problems that, left unresolved, stop businesses from functioning. You'll be expected to find the root cause, not just the workaround, and to implement permanent fixes that prevent clients from experiencing the same disruption twice.
Taking Ownership of Client Environment Reliability
You'll work across Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, Active Directory, virtual environments, security tooling, and networking, not as a checklist, but as the foundation of stable, productive environments for the businesses that depend on us. When you see patterns across client environments, you act on them before clients have to ask.
Unifying the Team That Serves Our Clients
A strong service desk means clients interact with confident, capable technicians at every level, not just at escalation. You'll mentor and develop Level 1 Technicians, share your knowledge, and contribute to the SOPs and documentation that lift the whole team's capability and consistency.
Doing What We Say We'll Do
You'll participate in migrations, upgrades, and system improvements projects that move our clients forward, not just maintain the status quo. You'll maintain accurate time entry and ticket documentation, and participate in the out-of-hours on-call roster as part of a team that our clients rely on around the clock.
What You Bring
3+ years in technical support or managed services (MSP) environment, including complex, escalated issue resolution
Strong Microsoft environment knowledge — M365, Windows, servers, networking
Exposure to cloud, security, and infrastructure technologies
Intune and Windows Autopilot deployment, support and troubleshooting experience
RMM, PSA (ConnectWise), and monitoring tools experience is a plus
Certifications a plus (Microsoft MCP, MCSA, MCSE, ITIL, ITSM)
To be successful in this role, you'll bring a genuine focus on client outcomes, and the communication skills to keep clients and colleagues informed and confident along the way. You'll be someone who naturally lifts the people around them, enjoys developing others, and takes ownership as a default rather than an afterthought. You'll stay calm under pressure, approach problems with structure, and follow through consistently managing your time, backlog and priority triage with the kind of discipline that clients and teammates can rely on. Strong attention to detail in your documentation rounds out the picture, because at QC, accountability shows up in the small things too.
Why Join QC Tech Services?
Your work here has direct meaning. The businesses and communities across regional Queensland that rely on us every day feel the difference you make. You'll work across a broad, modern technology stack spanning cloud, security, and infrastructure, with genuine variety across industries that keeps the work interesting and your skills sharp. This is a growing business where your contribution is visible, your autonomy is real, and your opportunity to shape the next generation of technicians is built into the role itself. You'll be part of a close-knit team led by people who don't just talk about values. They work by them every day.
Requirements
You'll need to be based on, or willing to work on, the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast, with full Australian working rights, and a current driver's licence. A Blue Card and a clear Police Check will be required prior to commencement. You'll also need to be willing to join the out-of-hours on-call roster.
