Experienced Chef

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Chef to join the culinary team at Europa at the Bay, a vibrant Italian hospitality establishment located in Glenelg, South Australia. We have a role open for Full Time/Part Time or Casual Positions that offer the opportunity to contribute your expertise and passion for food preparation in a dynamic beach side dining environment. As an Experienced Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of food quality, presentation and customer satisfaction, whilst working collaboratively with our kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes according to Europa at the Bay's culinary standards and recipes

• Managing food preparation stations and ensuring all cooking equipment is maintained and used safely

• Monitoring food quality, taste and presentation to consistently meet our establishment's standards

• Maintaining strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times

• Coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals during service

• Assisting with menu planning and suggesting new dishes or specials based on seasonal ingredients

• Maintaining an organised and clean kitchen environment, including proper storage and rotation of ingredients

• Responding to customer feedback and working to continuously improve our food offerings

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen environment within the hospitality industry

• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices

• Demonstrated expertise in food safety and hygiene standards, with current or ability to obtain relevant certifications

• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen

• Proficiency with kitchen equipment and culinary tools

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

• Flexibility and adaptability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays as required

• A passion for food quality and customer satisfaction

• Ability to take initiative and contribute creative ideas to enhance our menu offerings
