The Office of Major Infrastructure Delivery (OMID) is responsible for planning, procurement, financing, and delivery of the State’s major infrastructure.  As the lead agency for social and non-residential infrastructure, OMID delivers high value (exceeding $100 million), highly complex or high-risk projects across the health, justice, cultural, sporting, emergency services, and primary industry sectors.  

It brings together the best of program and project management, procurement, contract management, finance, commercial, stakeholder engagement, communications, sustainability, and governance to ensure Western Australia’s infrastructure is built safely, sustainably and with maximum public benefit.

OMID delivers projects that make a real difference to every Western Australian with new hospitals, sports, culture and entertainment centres, transport upgrades and training, justice and research facilities.

OMID is a part of the Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI), which is responsible for coordinating the State’s transport operations, leading strategic planning and policy development, and delivering safe and sustainable transport services as part of the wider Transport Portfolio.  

The Opportunities

Want to help shape the governance and decision-making behind some of Western Australia's largest and most significant infrastructure projects?

We are seeking motivated and organised Program Support Officers (Level 4) and Program Officers (Level 5) to join OMID's Governance and Business Support area.

These roles play a critical part in supporting program governance, executive decision-making and committee operations across a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure projects that deliver lasting benefits for Western Australians.

Program Support Officer (Level 4)

This role is suited to individuals with experience in complex administration, governance, project support or secretariat services who are looking to further develop their skills in a complex and evolving environment.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate secretariat support for governance committees
• Prepare agendas, meeting papers and minutes
• Manage program committee correspondence and records
• Support stakeholder engagement and governance processes
• Assist with governance projects, research and continuous improvement activities.

Program Officer (Level 5)

This role is suited to professionals with experience in governance, program coordination or committee management who are looking to take the next step in their career and contribute to the governance of major State infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will:

• Provide governance advice and support across a major infrastructure program
• Manage executive-level committee processes and governance reporting
• Analyse information and performance data to support decision-making
• Prepare high-quality reports, briefings and governance papers
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to governance framework improvements.

There is currently one (1) Level 4 position and one (1) Level 5 position available for immediate filling until 30 June 2029, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Suitable applicants will be placed in a talent pool for future fixed-term or permanent opportunities at the relevant classification level that arise within DTMI for a period of 12 months from the date of first appointment.
