Event Operations Assistant

At Gathering Events, we’re seeking someone who’s just as comfortable driving a van and setting up activation's as they are preparing event equipment and maintaining an organised warehouse.

We are on the lookout for a full-time front of house Event Operations Assistant to prepare and deliver our activation's and events, from warehouse to event location. This is a physical, fast paced and practice role. You'll spend your days preparing equipment and stock in our warehouse, loading and driving vehicles, setting up activation's onsite, supporting the operations crew and then packing down the activation's.

About the Role - The Day to Day: 

- Bump In & Out Events: Be a part of the onsite team, handling the logistics of bumping in and bumping out, ensuring everything is executed flawlessly 🛠️

- Driving: Deliver and set up at our events 🚚

- On Site Management: Ensure our events and carts are picture-perfect, our operations run seamlessly and event crew are supported.

- Warehouse Organisation: Station and prepare events in our warehouse. Maintaining warehouse and equipment

- Warehouse Inventory: Maintaining warehouse inventory levels across packaging, branding, styling and catering.

- Team Work: Collaborate with a close-knit team, where your passion for the catering industry will help orchestrate success 

- Client Relationships: Foster harmonious relationships with our clients, understanding their needs, and crafting experiences that resonate 

What You Can Expect - Work Schedule:

- Flexibility with workdays and weekends based on event schedules. Must have 7 day availability for 5 working days.

- Early starts (think prepping coffee carts for those morning events).

- Physical, hands-on tasks, including lifting, carrying, and managing logistics. 

- Ongoing training to develop your skills and grow within the role. 

- Working alongside a passionate and talented team of event professionals 

What We Are Looking For: 

Experience: Previous experience working in events, or in a similar warehouse BIBO role, hospitality or in a similar fast-paced environment is a must (with direct events experience preferred)

Passion: A love for events and bringing events to life 

Driver’s License: Must have a valid Australian Open Driver's License with confidence to drive a large van all over Melbourne.

Physical Stamina: Able to handle early starts and physically demanding tasks 💪 This involves daily lifting, carrying, loading and unloading and being on your feet for extended periods.

Communication Skills: Strong and effective communication abilities. 

Reliability: Punctual and dependable.

Initiative: Ability to work independently and show initiative.

Flexibility: Available to work on varied days and weekends 🕒

Team Player: An ability to lead, support, and inspire those around you.

Creativity: You're ready to think outside the box (and cart) to tackle any challenges head-on 🌟

Attention to Detail: Pride in ensuring equipment is clean, correctly packed and beautifully presented for the client.
