Maintenance & Gardening Officer

We are looking for a Maintenance & Gardening Officer to join our team, on a Permanent Part -Time basis looking after two of our Retirement Living Villages in Page & Kaleen. You will look after general building maintenance and gardening activities across our Retirement Village to ensure the building and grounds are always looking and operating at their absolute best.

Hours are:

- Mondays & Fridays - Kaleen - 08:30am - 2pm

- Tuesdays, Wednesday & Thursdays - Page - 08:30am-2pm

- 50 hours per fortnight

A bit about your new role: 

• Respond to maintenance requests in an efficient and timely manner

• Minor building repair works to building fixtures

• Assist residents with minor maintenance works such as light globes, broken fly screens, minor lock repairs

• Maintenance of gardens, lawns, irrigation, pools and grounds

• Setting up and taking down for special functions - such as a Village BBQ or morning teas

• Assist with safety inspections and light cleaning of community centres

• Other duties as directed by the Leader

A bit about you: 

• Demonstrated experience in a maintenance role in aged care/retirement living or similar setting would be desirable but not essential

• Willing to learn about aged care and the principles guiding this sector

• Ability to interact with the residents on a day-to-day basis and have a genuine interest in their wellbeing
