As an independent not‑for‑profit organisation, part of a global network of 360+ Houses, we help families with ill or injured children access the medical care and resources they need to focus on what truly matters; each other.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Family Program Manager to lead the strategic development, delivery and continuous improvement of our Family Programs portfolio. This diverse leadership role oversees Family Rooms, Family Retreats, educational support programs, family wellbeing initiatives and volunteer-supported activities, ensuring every service is safe, inclusive, engaging and aligned with our Family Wellbeing Model.

What You’ll Bring

Essential:

• Significant leadership and management experience in education, children's services, family support, community services, health, or not-for-profit settings.
• Demonstrated experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of child and family-focused programs.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple programs, projects, and stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating educational or family-centered programs.
• Proven experience managing teams, volunteers, budgets, and multiple service streams.
• Strong stakeholder management experience across health, education, community, and not-for-profit sectors.
• Experience working with children and families experiencing illness, trauma, disability, or other complex circumstances.
• Knowledge of child development, inclusion principles, and safeguarding requirements.

Desirable:

• Tertiary qualifications in Education, Child Development, Early Childhood, Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Health Promotion, or a related discipline.
• Experience working within healthcare, paediatric, education, community services, or family support environments.
• Knowledge of family-centred care principles and child wellbeing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Family Wellbeing

• Champion and embed the Family Wellbeing Model across all family programs.
• Lead initiatives that support the organisation's strategic objectives relating to family-centred care.
• Identify unmet family needs and develop responsive wellbeing initiatives.
• Facilitate and contribute to the Family Wellbeing Group.

Leadership and People Management

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to direct reports.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
• Manage performance, development, and succession planning.
• Support volunteer engagement within program areas.

Management of the Inhouse Education Programs

• Oversee the planning, delivery, and evaluation of all education programs.
• Ensure programs are developmentally appropriate, engaging, inclusive, and culturally safe.
• Maintain a consistent calendar of educational and recreational activities.
• Ensure programs accommodate children of varying ages, abilities, educational needs, and health circumstances.

Management of the Family Room (PCH), Fun on Four & Family Retreat Programs
