About the role

This is a part-time overnight position, initially offering approximately 3–4 shifts per week, including weekends. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of hotel public areas throughout the night, while also assisting with kitchen hand duties for approximately two hours per shift. There may be an opportunity to progress into a full-time, five-day-per-week position based on performance and operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the hotel lobby, reception, hallways, lifts, stairwells, entrances and public restrooms

• Vacuum, mop, dust, polish, sanitise and restock public areas and guest amenities

• Empty rubbish bins and ensure public areas remain clean, safe and well presented throughout the shift

• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards and lost property to management

• Assist with general housekeeping and cleaning duties as required

• Complete approximately 2 hours of kitchen hand duties per shift, including dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment and work areas, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards

• Follow workplace health and safety and food hygiene procedures

• Complete additional cleaning or operational duties as directed by management

About you

• Previous public area cleaning, housekeeping or hotel experience

• Previous kitchen hand experience – essential

• Ability to work independently throughout an overnight shift

• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards

• Reliable and punctual work ethic

• Ability to complete physically demanding and manual duties

• Good communication skills

• Weekend availability – essential
