IT Consultant – Rowville Location

Cloud Edge is looking for an experienced IT Consultant to join our growing team. We provide outsourced IT support and strategic technology solutions to small and medium-sized corporate customers, using the best mix of enterprise hardware and software from vendors such as Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure. AWS, HP, Sophos, Cisco, Barracuda and many others.

This is not a traditional support or system administration role. We're looking for someone who sees technology as a way to add real value to a client's business — a consultant who is confident talking to customers about where their business is heading, not just fixing what's in front of them.

What this role is really about

You'll be the trusted technology advisor to a portfolio of corporate clients. That means you'll:

• Build genuine client relationships — get to know their business, understand their goals, and proactively identify opportunities to improve, secure, and modernise their IT.

• Generate and scope new work — spot value-adding solutions, put together proposals, and quote projects with confidence.

• Run client workshops and briefings — help non-technical stakeholders understand technology, its risks and its opportunities, and guide their decision-making.

• Lead project delivery — manage projects end to end and lead a team to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions.

• Train yourself and others — stay ahead of the curve, share knowledge, and lift the technical capability of the wider team.

• Provide expert guidance and support — remotely and onsite — to a portfolio of corporate customers who value clear communication and reliable outcomes.

About you

You've completed a University degree (or equivalent) and have solid experience in IT Consulting, IT Management, or senior IT Support. You're Microsoft certified (required), and further relevant certifications and experience will strengthen your application. You're someone who:

• Can articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical people, whether face to face, over the phone, or in writing.

• Is self-motivated, commercially minded, and genuinely enjoys generating and winning new work.

• Can operate autonomously and lead a team, depending on the project or task at hand.

• Embraces change and is committed to continuous improvement and ongoing education.

Technical experience we're looking for

You'll possess — or be able to quickly master — the following:

• Microsoft Server 2016–2025, DHCP, DNS, Terminal/Remote Desktop Services, SQL

• Extensive Microsoft 365 experience (essential) and knowledge of other mail systems

• Cloud platforms — Microsoft Azure (preferred), AWS and others

• AI in the workplace — practical experience with Microsoft Copilot and helping clients adopt AI safely and productively

• Firewalls, virtualisation and networking — hands-on experience across firewalls (e.g. Barracuda, Sophos, Cisco), virtualisation (VMware, Hyper-V) and general networking technologies (Switching, routing, VLANs)

• Security and vulnerability management — familiarity with the ASD Essential Eight and SMB1001 frameworks, along with practical security hardening and vulnerability management

Technical qualifications in Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Cisco, or other networking technologies will enhance your application.

The package

• Full-time role, salary based on experience — $85,000 – $120,000

• Ongoing training, certification support, and genuine career progression into senior consulting and leadership.
