Located on the stunning Mornington Peninsula, Portsea Hotel is seeking an experienced and passionate hospitality leaders to join their management team.
 
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Venue Manager or experienced hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career at one of Australia's most recognised destination venues.
 
Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will play a key role in leading daily restaurant operations, developing and mentoring our front of house team, driving service standards, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences across our busy dining room, events, and broader venue operations.
 
About the Role
 
As a key member of the leadership team, you will:

• Lead daily restaurant and venue operations with a strong presence on the floor.
• Inspire, train and develop a high-performing front of house team.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and maintain premium service standards.
• Manage staffing levels, labour costs and service efficiency.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding and ongoing team development.
• Support beverage and wine sales through staff training and guest engagement.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and confidently.
• Work closely with the kitchen and management teams to ensure seamless service.
• Contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the venue.

 
About You
 
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Assistant Venue Manager, Duty Manager or similar leadership role.
• Experience working in premium, high-volume hospitality venues.
• Strong food, beverage and wine knowledge, with a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences.
• Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• A hands-on management style with a willingness to lead from the floor.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Confidence managing guest relations and service recovery.
• A current Victorian RSA certificate.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Reliable transport or the ability to relocate to the Mornington Peninsula.
