🎯 About the Opportunity

WEG Australia is seeking an experienced Sales & Application Engineer – Motors to join our growing team in Scoresby.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys combining engineering expertise, problem-solving, and customer engagement. In this role, you will provide technical, sales, and application support across WEG’s Motors product portfolio, working closely with customers to deliver practical, high-quality solutions.

You’ll collaborate with customers, sales teams, interstate offices, service personnel, and WEG manufacturing facilities to support projects, solve technical challenges, and contribute to the continued growth of WEG’s Motor business throughout Australia.

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing pre-sales and after-sales technical support for WEG Motor products
• Assisting customers with product selection, installation, operation, and maintenance
• Supporting commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault-finding activities
• Responding to customer enquiries professionally and efficiently
• Liaising with WEG factories and internal service teams on technical and warranty-related matters
• Developing and supporting sales and marketing tools for Motor products
• Delivering technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training sessions
• Providing commercial and logistics support to interstate offices and customers
• Conducting technical and commercial benchmarking activities
• Responsible for the preparation, request, and review of certified documentation – including but not limited to CAD drawings, test reports, data sheets, and ITPs
• Working with customers and the sales team to develop tailored Motor solutions
• Assisting with quotations, tenders, package solutions, and project submissions
• Providing order management and project support as required
• Representing WEG at industry exhibitions, trade shows, and customer events

⭐ Who We’re Looking For

Essential

• Relevant Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification, or a minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role
• Minimum two years’ experience working with electric motors, gearboxes, generators, transformers, or similar rotating equipment
• Experience in application engineering, product selection, and fault-finding relating to the operation of electric motors
• Sound understanding of torque, speed, power, and motor performance characteristics
• Proficiency with AC and DC electric motors, generators, and transformers
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Experience using ERP systems and other internal business software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
• Confidence in delivering technical presentations, product training, and public speaking engagements

Desirable

• Business degree, diploma, or other commercial qualification
• Awareness of relevant IEC and AS/NZS standards
• Commercial experience and/or application engineering experience within industrial products
• Hands-on experience with the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of motors, generators, transformers, gearboxes, or related products
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver effective solutions under pressure
• Previous experience in a Sales Engineer or Technical Sales role
• Experience training, mentoring, and supporting colleagues to develop their technical skills and knowledge
• Strong business writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively in written correspondence and technical documentation
