Technical / Sales Engineer

An exciting opportunity has opened for a technically minded professional to represent the Mobil brand and deliver high-value lubrication and reliability solutions across New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Based preferably in Melbourne, or alternatively Sydney, this role suits someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement to solve real operational challenges. You will support customers across major industries including energy, manufacturing, processing, forestry, transport, construction, agriculture and mining, with a particular focus on power generation.

About the role

In this role, you will lead technical support programs, provide expert product application advice and work closely with Business Managers to deliver tailored lubrication solutions for customers. You will help customers improve reliability, reduce operating risk and identify opportunities for measurable performance improvement, while contributing directly to Statewide Oil’s growth across key industries.

The Main Responsibilities Would Include:

• Evaluate and implement technical programs for customers, including the ongoing identification of profit improvement opportunities.

• Document the results of technical programs, including proof of performance that quantifies savings and cost avoidance.

• Regularly identifies and secures product upgrade opportunities for customers

• Resolves technical problems regarding products and equipment performance.

Our ideal candidate will bring:

• A minimum of 3 years' technical experience (the remuneration will reflect your years of experience).

• A background in Engineering or Science, or relevant Mechanical trade qualifications for experienced candidates.

• Experience in lubricants is not essential but highly regarded.

• Sales experience is not essential but highly regarded.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• A resourceful, hands-on approach, and practical to troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Strong attention to technical detail and accuracy.

• A collaborative team player who's motivated by shared team goals.
