Purchasing & Inventory Officer

We’re a close-knit, fast-moving team, and we’re looking for an Purchasing & Inventory Officer to join our Head Office in Coopers Plains.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, systems-focused role keeping our inventory data accurate and our business systems running smoothly across multiple locations. Working closely with Stores, Finance and Operations, you’ll take care of purchasing, stock accuracy, system data, stocktakes, reporting and our international import and export shipments – and you’ll enjoy getting to the bottom of discrepancies. It’s a great opportunity for someone with some experience in these areas who wants to learn and grow with a market leader.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Maintain accurate inventory, pricing, costing and product data within our business/ERP systems across multiple locations.

• Raise, maintain and follow up purchase orders in the system and keep records up to date.

• Monitor stock levels, backorders and incoming deliveries across our multi-site operation, and flag replenishment needs.

• Manage and process international shipments for both import and export, including customs requirements and associated documentation.

• Review, calculate and reconcile landed costs, including freight and other applicable import and export costs.

• Maintain and review system job costings, product costs and inventory values.

• Coordinate and assist with stocktakes and cycle counts – preparation, system processing, variance investigation and reconciliation.

• Investigate and resolve stock, costing and system-data discrepancies through to resolution.

• Coordinate stock transfers between locations and ensure inventory movements are recorded accurately.

• Prepare low-stock, inventory, purchasing and variance reports from the system.

• Reconcile month-end stock reports and track any discrepancies

• Work with Stores, Operations and Accounts across all locations to improve system accuracy and inventory processes.

About You

• Experience across most areas of inventory or stock control, ERP/business systems, job or product costing, stocktakes and cycle counts, international freight, shipping and customs together with a genuine willingness to learn the rest.

• Confidence working with ERP, inventory or business-management systems and system data.

• Some exposure to job or product costing, or the confidence to pick it up.

• Good spreadsheet/Excel skills and strong attention to detail.

• Strong numerical and problem-solving skills – you like investigating discrepancies.

• Well organised, reliable and a good communicator who works well across teams and locations.

• Comfortable working across multiple departments and multiple sites.

Highly regarded: hands-on experience with international freight, shipping, customs or shipping documentation, and with job or product costing in a business system.
