About the role

Queensland Cable Repairs Pty Ltd keeps the mines around Mackay running by repairing and maintaining the electrical cables that power them. We're growing our team and looking for a reliable, safety-conscious Cable Repairer to join us full-time. Prior electrical experience is a bonus, not a requirement — we'll train the right person on the job.

What you'll be doing

● Diagnosing and identifying faults in mining-grade electrical cables

● Carrying out cable repairs, joints and replacements to industry standards

● Operating specialised cable-repair tools and testing equipment

● Following strict safety protocols across workshop and mine sites

● Maintaining accurate records and documentation of completed work

What we're looking for

● Electrical knowledge preferred but not essential — full training provided

● Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

● A safety-first mindset with close attention to detail

● Clear communication and a genuine team-player attitude

● Willingness to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment

● Current driver's licence and ability to pass a mine site induction (incl. drug & alcohol testing)
