Parking Officer

We are seeking a community-minded, customer focused person to join our community parking compliance team. This frontline role conducts patrols, enforces legislative requirements/regulations and investigates complaints and incidents. The successful candidate will also be responsible for issuing warnings/cautions and penalty notices for offenses to ensure compliance within the shire.

What you will be doing:

• Investigate complaints, issue warnings/cautions or penalty notices, for detected offences in line with relevant Acts and Regulations.
• Enforce legislative requirements in relation to the Roads & Traffic Regulations
• Investigate complaints, assess and resolve complaints in compliance with applicable Actions, Regulations and Statutory Requirements.
• Reporting safety hazards, abandoned vehicles, dumped rubbish, or other breaches observed during patrols
• Prepare statement of basic facts, contentions, briefs of evidence and affidavits as well as appear in court.

What are we seeking in our new team member:

• Current Class C Drivers Licence
• White Card - General Construction Induction
• Completion of the SEINS training or willingness to obtain
• Diploma/ Cert IV (Ranger) in Local Gov or similar discipline; or relevant industry experience
• Experience in law enforcement or Local Government law enforcement procedures (Desirable)
• Working knowledge of the Local Government Act & Australian Road Rules.
