GARDEN CENTRE SUPERVISOR

About the role

This is a varied and active role where you will be responsible for leading the retail team, driving sales, maintaining high presentation standards and ensuring the garden centre is well stocked, healthy and looking its best. This is an active, hands-on leadership position with a strong focus on customer service, team management, sales and the presentation of our garden centre.

Key responsibilities

• Leading, motivating and supporting our retail team
• Organising daily team tasks and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently
• Driving sales and identifying opportunities to improve the customer experience
• Providing exceptional customer service and expert gardening advice
• Managing green life ordering and ensuring our plant range is suited to our local customer base
• Preparing customer quotes and assisting with sales enquiries
• Maintaining attractive, fresh and modern plant displays
• Monitoring stock levels, plant quality and presentation throughout the nursery
• Assisting with merchandising and outdoor living product displays
• Ensuring the garden centre is clean, organised and presented to a high standard

About you

• Proven experience in a retail nursery, garden centre or similar horticultural environment
• Strong plant and horticultural knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a retail team
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities
• A commercial mindset and an ability to identify sales opportunities
• A high level of attention to presentation and detail
• Physical fitness and a willingness to perform hands-on work
• The ability to work independently, take initiative and make decisions
• A positive attitude and the ability to lead by example
