Purchasing Officer – Steel Fabrication Industry

alcon Engineering are seeking a motivated and reliable Purchasing Officer to join our busy steel fabrication team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is looking for a long-term position within a well-established fabrication business. The successful applicant will be responsible for purchasing and procurement duties while also assisting with general office administration and operations support.

Reporting directly to management, your responsibilities will include:

• Purchasing steel, consumables, and workshop materials

• Obtaining supplier quotes and negotiating pricing

• Raising and managing purchase orders

• Monitoring stock levels and coordinating deliveries

• Liaising with suppliers, workshop staff, and management

• Assisting with accounts/admin duties as required

• Filing, document control, and general office support

• Supporting day-to-day operations within the business

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous purchasing or administration experience

• Strong organisational and communication skills

• Ability to multitask and work in a busy environment

• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office

• A proactive attitude and willingness to assist across multiple areas

• Experience in the steel fabrication, construction, or manufacturing industry highly regarded
