About the role
Reporting to the Risk & Quality Manager, you will be a trusted and visible safety leader who works collaboratively with internal departments, clients, contractors and event organisers. As part of the BCEC Safety Team, you will ensure all aspects of business activities are risk managed to provide a compliant, safe environment for all staff, clients and guests.
Key responsibilities
Assist with the development, continuous review and improvement of BCEC Safety Documentation, ensuring the Centre complies with all relevant Acts, Legislation, Standards etc. with regards to workplace activities
Review of event safety documentation for all event types
Monitor the build, operation and dismantling of events across a 7-day roster, including evenings and weekends
Respond to incident and accident reporting, assisting the safety team in follow up investigations and actions
Assist with the capture and analysis of safety specific data, to facilitate a safer workplace
Assist with the coordination of the WH&S committee and chair regular meetings as required
Administer training for and assist BCEC Health and Safety representatives in safety matters
Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure hazards are identified and risk assessed
Maintain current and relevant knowledge of relevant Acts and Regulations, sustainability and environmental developments and industry trends
