Chief Estimator - General Civil Experience - New Zealand

ConsultANZ is looking for a Chief Estimator to join our top client in New Zealand.

The Chief Estimator will be important in the early stages of our projects. They will lead the estimating team, create accurate cost estimates for various civil projects, and ensure our bids are competitive and profitable. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with candy estimating software and have strong experience in general civil construction, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.

• Lead and mentor the estimating team.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineers.
• Analyze project documents to prepare accurate estimates.
• Ensure bids meet company and client standards.
• Address client inquiries and provide clarifications.
• Maintain relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Prepare competitive bid proposals.
• Develop cost estimates using candy software.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
• Improve estimating processes and tools.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in civil construction estimating, with at least 8 -10 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in candy estimating software is essential.
• Extensive knowledge of general civil construction, including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
