Estimating Manager - New Zealand

ConsultANZ is looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to join a leading civil contractor in Auckland. This is a senior role where you will lead estimating work for large civil projects, making sure all cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and commercially strong. You will also help set bid strategies and support key decisions during the tender stage.

• Lead estimating work for major civil infrastructure tenders from start to finish.
• Prepare and check cost estimates to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
• Manage and support the estimating team.
• Work with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and build estimates.
• Help develop bid strategies and tender pricing plans.
• Review contract terms, risks, and tender requirements.
• Support handover to delivery teams after successful bids.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 15+ years of estimating experience in civil infrastructure.
• At least 10+ years working in the New Zealand construction market.
• At least 5 years’ experience as a senior or lead estimator on major projects.
• Strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Expert proficiency in Candy estimating software.
• Strong commercial sense and understanding of pricing, contracts, and risk.
