Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 + Car Allowance + Super + Bonus | OTE $200K+

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished State Sales Manager to lead and grow a high-performing sales team within a premium, design-led business.

Reporting to the General Manager and Executive Leadership Team, you will take ownership of the state sales strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth, strengthening key client relationships, and delivering an exceptional customer experience across the Architecture & Design (A&D) and construction sectors.

As the leader of a satellite office, you will play a critical role in connecting the state operation with national business objectives. You will create a high-performance culture, develop sales capability, and ensure consistent standards across sales, customer engagement, commercial performance, and operational execution.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who thrives on building teams, developing markets, and creating long-term client partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

• Develop and execute the annual state sales strategy in alignment with national business objectives.
• Lead the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
• Establish a disciplined sales operating rhythm through regular pipeline reviews, forecasting, and opportunity management.
• Identify and implement commercially sound growth opportunities, market initiatives, and new business strategies.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities across the A&D and construction sectors.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of business priorities.
• Represent the business at industry events, networking functions, showroom activations, and key client engagements.

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit, coach, develop, and retain high-performing sales talent.
• Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and field support to drive capability and performance.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture.
• Establish clear expectations and performance measures, providing regular feedback and development support.
• Lead effective onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Identify future leaders and build a strong internal sales talent pipeline.

Business Development & Client Engagement

• Develop, maintain, and grow strategic relationships across the architecture, design, construction, and related sectors.
• Leverage an established industry network to identify new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
• Deliver a premium customer experience throughout the entire sales journey.
• Ensure sales commitments are aligned with operational capabilities, project requirements, and delivery expectations.
• Support new product launches, showroom activations, events, and strategic market initiatives.
• Personally engage with key clients and high-value opportunities where required.

Financial & Commercial Management

• Own state sales performance, budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
• Track performance against agreed commercial and financial targets.
• Contribute to sales incentive and commission frameworks that align individual performance with broader business objectives.
• Balance growth opportunities with commercial discipline and operational efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins, productivity, customer value, and overall sales effectiveness.

CRM, Forecasting & Reporting

• Ensure strong CRM discipline and consistent adoption across the sales team.
• Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, opportunity stages, and reporting.
• Drive best-practice opportunity management and sales processes.
• Maintain high levels of forecast accuracy and data integrity.
• Provide clear and commercially relevant sales reporting to the Executive Leadership Team.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams.
• Experience managing a regional, remote, or satellite office or sales operation.
• Strong understanding of specification sales and the architecture, design, and construction industry lifecycle.
• An established network across the A&D and construction sectors.
• A demonstrated track record of delivering sales growth and strong commercial outcomes.
• Strong leadership capability, with a genuine focus on accountability, collaboration, and team development.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate strategy into measurable results.
• Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on and highly accountable approach.
• Experience working within a premium, luxury, design-led, or specification-focused brand environment will be highly regarded.
• Strong CRM capability, ideally with experience using Salesforce.
