The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Finance Manager to join our team in Canberra on a 12-month contract with the potential for extension. You will manage the entire finance function and work closely with the Company Directors and General Managers.

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for effectively managing the finance function of our business including:

• Administering accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliations. 

• Management of employee payroll including timesheets, same day superannuation contributions and long service leave reporting.

• Ensuring compliance with all statutory reporting obligations including preparation and payment of Payroll Tax across three states and monthly BAS’

• Controlling month-end and year-end close processes and required journals

• Monthly finance reporting to directors

• Administering the Bank Guarantee facility

• Liaising with our outsourced accounting function to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting is produced

• Forecasting cashflow requirements

• Management of accounts inboxes

• Onboarding and offboarding of employees

• Management of the IT function

• Office management across three offices

• Asset management and register maintenance

What are we looking for? 

The successful candidate will be able to display the following skills and attributes:

• Tertiary Qualification in Commerce, Finance and/or accounting

• Experience managing accounts and payroll functions 

• Experience using Jonas Premier Accounting or other Construction Accounting Software (desirable).

• Experience in accounting within the construction industry.

• Have a high attention to detail.

• Ability to work through tasks whilst managing office interruptions. 

• Have excellent organisation and time management skills. 

• Work well in a team environment as well as unsupervised. 

• Have a high level of written and verbal communication skills. 

• Work discreetly with sensitive and confidential information.
