Communications & Content Officer

About the role

• Develop and deliver content strategies that support UnionsACT campaigns, advocacy initiatives, events and services.
• Produce written, visual and multimedia content for social media, websites, newsletters, reports, publications and promotional materials.
• Create graphics, videos, worker stories and campaign resources that engage diverse audiences and strengthen support for workers rights.
• Support internal service teams by assisting in the development of communication materials, educational resources, promotional campaigns and service information that improve engagement and accessibility.
• Manage and maintain multiple UnionsACT websites using Squarespace, ensuring content remains current, accessible, visually engaging and aligned with organisational priorities.
• Coordinate digital communications across platforms to ensure consistency of messaging, branding and design.
• Work with the UnionsACT Team to build and maintain a library of digital assets including photography, graphics, video content, design templates and style guides.
• Provide communications support for events, education programs, campaigns, conferences and public activities.

Desirable

• Experience in communications, media, digital content, marketing, graphic design or a related field.
• Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Experience creating content across social media, websites, email marketing and digital channels.
• Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms.
• Experience producing and editing video and multimedia content.
• Experience managing websites and digital platforms.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Commitment to the values and principles of the trade union movement.

• 12 Month Contract with potential for extension 
• $91,090 per annum plus 14.5% superannuation.
